Item Details
Description
This is an interesting look back at the distribution of African American population in 1900 per the US Census. Expectedly, the South has the largest density, with movement to the Philadelphia to Boston corridor indicated. The Midwest and West are relatively sparsely populated at this point by African Americans, and relatively so is eastern Tennessee and eastern Kentucky.
