Description
Luristan Bronze Long Sword Ca. 7th century B.C. Size 31-1/4 inches Length. Bronze sword having a long curved blade, with a raised central blood ridge. Hand grip decorated with a short linear, herring bone and triangular pattern. Large double lug arc pommel. Overall blue-green surface patina with scattered areas of encrustation. Blade reattached into the hilt socket with restoration around the reattachment, otherwise intact. Rare to have a curved blade. Provenance:Ex. Arthur M. Sackler collection, ex. Millea Bros. Auction, 2/20/2011.
