Barraud & Lunds, rare Victorian carriage clock, c.1845, England, foliate engraved gilt brass gorge case, beveled crystal panes, the gold face set with black Roman numerals, movement engraved "Barraud & Lunds Cornhill, London" and numbered 1793, 8.25"h x 5"w x 4.25"d
Provenance: Property from the Collection of Dr. Leonard D. Hamilton. Leonard D. Hamilton studied at Balliol College, Oxford, and Trinity College, Cambridge, before moving to the US in 1949. He was a brilliant researcher who played an important role in the discovery of the structure of DNA. A keen art collector, Dr. Hamilton owned works by the likes of Whistler, Matisse, Picasso and Candido Portinari.
