Willard J. Page (American, 1885-1958), oil on board, untitled Southwest landscape, ca. 1930s to 1940s CE. Monogrammed by the artist on the lower right in black. A landscape painting that captures the marvelous colors and light of the American West with a quaint adobe house, ristras of chile peppers drying outside, and the Catalina Mountains (also Santa Catalina Mountains) in the background. Willard Page was born in Kansas City in the late 19th century and became an itinerant artist of the American West in the early 20th century. Early in his career he set up a studio in Boulder, Colorado as his home base and traveled around the West - to Arizona, California, Kansas, as well as throughout Colorado - in search of inspiring landscapes with majestic views. Compositions like this one captured the beautiful desert environment. Size: 4" L x 4" W (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm) framed
