Description
Mechanical model of a Knox fire truck, ca. 1910, to include two ladders, one an extension, the other a pompier style, and two detachable fire extinguishers, 24'' l. The Knox Automobile Company of Springfield, Massachusetts is said to have been the earliest maker of modern style automotive fire engines, their first in 1905. This is a highly detailed model of a 1910 model with complex electrically operated mechanisms in open undercarriage.
Condition
Chasis is 8" w., 26" l. Overall length - 29". Highest point - 11 1/2" h. Wheel turns, steering does not work, something is disconnected, levers do move, not fully tested for functionality. As found condition.
