Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A miniature kohl jar, hand-carved from a speckled grey stone with white and russet inclusions, with a round but stable base and a corseted neck. The thick, flared rim tapers gently inwards to a drilled interior cavity which still retains some of the original pale-blue kohl makeup.
