Description
Schuyler Standish - Black in w/ possible paint as well. Great RARE abstract by Standish. Dated 1951. Signed. Size: 15 1/8" x 22 1/8". This is quite a scarce work and would look great framed. Standish was not just a great artist, yet he was a child prodigy who began studying violin at the age of 3 and entered UCLA at age 13 as a music major who 1 year later was named concert master of the university's symphony orchestra. He studied tap dancing as a child at the sacme school attended by Shirley Temple. He was in several movies. He started to paint after the war and his first one man show in 1954 at the then renowned Falk Raboff Gallery. In 1982 his work was shown at the Tah Gallery in Pasadena. His work has been exhibited at various museums, including LACMA, Riverside Art Museum. He had various exhibits over the years. He also taught art. His art is collected world wide.
Condition
Excellent condition aside few creases corners and left margin. Mild toning edge. When framed easy to obsure all.
