Description
7 antique color wood engravings from Rev. Francis Orpen Morris' "Natural History of the Nests and Eggs of British Birds" published 1879 by George Bell and Son. Printed by Benjamin Fawcett who used heavy paper stock of the finest quality often imported from France. Includes 7 prints: 1. Common Sandpiper (Very minor loss bottom left corner) 2. Grey-lag Goose and Bean Goose (Minor loss in the bottom left corner) 3. Cormorants and Gannet (Very small tear on the left edge) 4. Wilson's Petrel, Fork-tailed Petrel, and Storm Petrel 5. Red-Breasted Merganser and Goosander (Minor foxing) 6. White-Winged Black Tern 7. Greenshank (Has minor discoloration) Overall good condition for their age. All showing signs of removal from book along one edge. While we do our best to accurately describe the condition, it can be subjective.
