PUCCINI GIACOMO: (1858-1924) Italian Composer. A.L.S., Puccini, one page, oblong 4to, Paris, 10th November 1906, to a Baron, in Italian. Puccini sends a short message, in bold purple ink, stating `Very dear Baron, You can count on the tickets to attend the dress rehearsal of Madame Butterfly for Mr and Mme Taponier, Affectionate regards´. Folded. A very small tear to the upper edge, and overall border creasing. F Madama Butterfly (1904) A worldwide acclaimed Opera by Puccini. It´s premiere in Milan at Teatro alla Scala was disastrous. Puccini largely re-wrote it and made several versions between 1904 and 1906. The first performance in Paris this letter refers to, in 1906 and 1907 was with the final version.
