Description
BAKER JOSEPHINE: (1906-1975) African-American Dancer and Singer. A.L.S., `Josephine´, two pages, 4to, on the printed stationery of Village du Monde, Périgord, with attractive blind embossed heading, 15th March 1967, in French. Baker writes a friendly letter, in her French writing with multiple mistakes, and states in part `My two love…How are things.. I suppose you are resting a bit - here life continues in the same way, nature wakes up and the countryside becomes beautiful..´ further saying `I would be happy to see you again, but here as I am still at your home.. to bother you. I found Henri concerned.. less happy, etc, he seems to be annoyed or bored..´ At the conclusion Baker signs `Josephine and herd´, referring amusingly to her adopted children. G
