The outfit comes with a copy of a handwritten letter from Washington to collector and museum owner Mike Moon, which states in part, "It gives me personal pleasure to donate to your museum this tennis outfit which was used in a celebrity tennis tournament here in Hollywood. I might add that the pattern and sewing of this outfit was performed by myself." The suit is also signed by Washington on the collar of the top. The lot also includes an original signed handwritten note from Washington to Moon (regarding a separate transaction), a printed 4.75" x 3.25" photo of Washington, Mike Moon and "Benson" actor Robert Guillaume after dinner at Charlies Restaurant in Hollywood. The lot will also come with a copy of a 1981 typeset letter from Sportsman's Club For the City of Hope, reading in part "Congratulations to Winning Bidder Robert Guillaume & Shirley Washington join you and your guest at Carlos & Charlie's for dinner", a signed 8"x10" publicity photo signed to Mike Moon and a certificate of authenticity. This piece was previously exhibited at Mike Moon's Elvis and Hollywood Legends Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
