Avinoff, Andrey (Russian/American 1884-1949), Untitled Surreal Composition, 1940's watercolor, 20 x 14.25 inches, a surreal composition featuring Asian Figures and multiple figures floating in a dream like space. Vintage rustic finish frame measuring 24 x 18.5 inches, Provenance: The Estate of Andrey Avinoff, Born in the Ukraine of Russia to a highly distinguished family, Andrey Avinoff was a watercolorist, illustrator and museum director and became especially noted for his botanical subjects and romantic legendary figures, often of mythology, such as his work, The Birth of Atlantis. He was particularly known for his flower paintings, and 350 works illustrate a book titled Wildflowers of Western Pennsylvania and the Upper Ohio Basin.
