Description
Guangxu (1875-1908) or early Republic period. The center of bowl with an iron-red five-claw dragon holding a pearl. The exterior of bowl with enameled dragon and phoenix motif, the exterior rim with 'rolling cloud' motif.
Condition: abrasion to gilding on rim
Provenance: Constantine (Gus) Sclavos (1896-1985) owner of Glasgow Arms restaurant, Glasgow, Delaware; to his daughter Mary, who upon her passing in 2020, bequeathed the Sclavos Collection to her nephew.
Dimensions: Diameter: 7 in.
