A Chinese famille rose dragon covered bowl
Guangxu period
With a six-character Guangxu mark on the underside.
H: 5, Dia: 7 7/8 in. (with lid) (H: 12.7, Dia: 20 cm. (with lid))
Provenance: Ms. Sherman, Colorado. The collection was inherited from her grandfather, John H. Reisner. Mr. Reisner went to Nanjing in 1914 and stayed until 1928. Mr. Reisner was an agriculture expert from Cornell University and went to Nanjing to help setup the agriculture department at Nanking University. These items were collected during the time Mr. Reisner was in China.
Guangxu period

Condition
Small, scattered firing cracks throughout the interior and underside of the lid and base. Wear commensurate with age and use.
