Description
American, probably New England, 18th century. The white pine figure and horse on a fitted rectangular section of wood which appears to be original to the sculpture.
Provenance: Purchased circa 1995 by the present owners from the descendants of a Distinguished New England Family

Condition
Condition: Old repair to replace lower section of horse's front right leg; rear right leg has been broken off and has been glued back on; both feet of Gentleman are missing; Nose of horse has old repair, which has been left unpainted; Abrasion to horse's ears and rider's elbows; paint losses to areas all-over comprising flaking and small chips; craquelure allover.
