L. MARTI ET CIE, FRENCH SPELTER & MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK, H 28", W 20", ROMAN GENERAL A bronze patinated spelter mantel clock. Shows Roman general standing next to circular clock support with shields and lances. Has a black dial with Roman numerals, 2-key wind, beveled glass front. The back side of the clock has "997," "53" and "Medaille De Bronze" impressions. Presented on a grey demi-lune shape marble base. Depth 11.5". Provenance: from the Estate of George Palmer Indian Village, MI.
Condition
Shield to left of dial has soldering from previous damage, glass hinge to backside of clock is cracked, beveled glass on dial has abrasion between 7:00 & 8:00. Finish is worn due to age & cleaning. Timekeeping accuracy not guaranteed. CP
