WROUGHT-IRON HEARTH ANDIRONS, LOT OF TWO PAIR, goose-neck forms, comprising a large example and a diminutive example, each with a shaped flat shaft terminating in a ball-form tip, raised on arched legs with one example having square-form feet, original log supports; diminutive example fitted with c-form supports for spit and with later black paint. 19th century. 11 1/2" HOA, 14 1/4" L and 16" HOA, 21" L.
Very good overall condition, small example with moderate pitting and a possible old repair to log support juncture along with losses to toe tips, large example with light pitting and rust.
Provenance: From the collection of the late James C. Leonard, Jamestown, NC.
