AMERICAN EARTHENWARE / REDWARE ARTICLES, LOT OF EIGHT, lead-glazed, comprising a slip-decorated plate, four dishes, a wide-mouth bowl, a pint crock, and a one-gallon storage jar with manganese-splotched decoration. Pennsylvania and New England. 19th century. 1 1/2" to 10 1/4" H, 4 1/2" to 10" D.
Excellent overall condition, free of cracks with some typical wear; plate with some rim chips; one dish with a minor hairline.
Provenance: From the Maury Lloyd Hanson, Jr. Revocable Trust for the Nature Conservancy, to be used solely for acquisition of land in the Piedmont and Shenandoah Valley areas of Virginia.
