STAMPED "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER", NEW YORK DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, "2" gallon capacity slip-trailed designation, beehive form with applied arched handles, and flat-top, galleried rim, Albany-slip glazed interior. Slip-trailed cobalt two-blossom floral decoration. The shop of John Burger, Rochester, NY. Circa 1860. 11" H, 7 /4" D.
Excellent condition, shallow chip to interior of rim not affecting the profile, very light 1 1/2" hairline off the rim above one handle.
