A real Japanese dagger with a chrysanthemum from the Navy
This Japanese naval tanto was a high rank Naval officer in the second world war.
This blade has a signature ? ?
The blade was made during war time (1941).
The name of the Japanese blacksmith is,
Sanekuni who lived in Tokyo Meguro.
He was a student of Horii Toshihide and Hayama Enshin.
He was born at Meiji 17th.
Sanekuni’s real name is Kato Matazo, born 1884 in Meguro,
Tokyo and made swords as a gendai smith during WW II and after the War.
Total weight is 260 gr.
Length koshirea is 37.5 cm.
The blade is 27 cm, cutting area is 18 cm.
Weight of the blade is 82 gr.
