Leon Day (1916-95) is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the Negro League, playing throughout his career for the Baltimore Black Sox, Newark Eagles, and Baltimore Elite Giants. Although he played every position, with the exception of catcher, he is known for his skills as a pitcher, rivalling the great Satchel Paige. He was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995.
