This is a fine lot of photos signed by some great ball players from the Negro leagues of baseball. Each player has signed a reproduction of his photo. Albert "Buster" Haywood, player and coach who helped discover Hank Aaron; Sammie Haynes, an eleven year career spanning 1936-47; Andy Porter, started with the Watts Giants in 1946 and ended his career with the Watts Giants in 1951. After he retired, Mr. Haynes founded the International Society of Athletes; Andy Porter, phenomenal pitcher for several teams throughout his career including the Jackie Robinson All Stars and the Satchel Paige All Stars; Fran Matthews, first baseman and outfielder for several teams, including the Newark Eagles; Luther Branham, played for only two years in the United States. Once the Negro leagues started to collapse, he moved on to play in Canada. All of these men played the game they loved and played with pride. Each has signed his own photo and all but one is an 8 x 10, with Haywood's photo being 4 x 6. These items were purchased at ABC (American Black Collectibles) which was licensed by Mr. Haynes Athlete Society and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Business cards included.
