Approximately 18 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. The first ad in the first column is for Samuel Magaw's "A Discourse Delivered July 17, 1794. In the African Church, of the City of Philadelphia. On the occasion of opening the said church and holding public worship in it the first time."Together with:National Gazette and Literary RegisterPhiladelphia: William Fry, October 7, 1823, Vol. IV, No. 408. Approximately 21 x 13 1/2 in. Article on "negro insurrection" in Demarara: "The negros [sic] rose to the amount of 3000 and gave regular battle to the King's troops...but they were defeated by the very gallant conduct of a lieutenant who commanded the division. The 21st West India Regiment and Georgetown Militia of Cavalry...behaved uncommonly well..."Together with:Single page from an unknown American newspaper, ca. July, 1814, with the following ad relating to slavery: "To be Sold A Stout Black Boy, who has between three and four years to serve; he has been accustomed to farming business..."Conditon varies.
