A Chippendale carved mahogany tall case clockNewport, RI, circa 1770With floral-decorated face, second hand dial and date indicator, and three flame-carved finials.H: 91 in. W: 19 1/2 in. D: 9 1/2 in.
Condition
includes two weights, pendulum, case key, winding key; refinished; case with possible loss to height; feet with repaired breaks, back left-facing foot with new wood supports; repairs to buckling of grain at top of case, near top of case door; door with later hinges and possibly with later and/or repaired molding; some age splits to sides, including to top right molding and molding along right facing base; weights and pendulum appear to be newer; face with cracquelure commensurate with age; as with all mechanical objects, Freeman's does not guarantee functionality
