Elizabeth Clemons (American, born circa 1960). Original Expressionism oil painting on board, a philharmonic conductor leading an orchestra, possibly modeled on photographic images of 20th Century American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990). Painted in a moody, distorted style, in a stark, evocative palette of black, white, blue, gray and other colors. Painted to sides and back. Mounted in a gilt wooden frame. Artist signed and dated ELIZABETH CLEMONS 2005 to back. Good condition with some age related wear. Measures 11 1/4 in. x 13 1/4 in. (work), 20 1/2 in. x 22 1/4 in. (framed).
