Description
A set of six early to mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver tea glass holders, Isfahan circa 1930-50, retailed by Martins of Tehran Pahlavi dynasty, the tea glass holders (Russian Podstakannik) with spreading circular bases, the bodies with shaped C scroll rims leading to chased C scroll handles. The bodies with engraved ghalam zani decoration various figural and animal scenes mostly of shepherds, probably Khosrow Parviz on his favourite horse, Shabdiz, reserved within C scrolls and flanked by MacQueen’s Bustards with buildings in the background. The handle section with floral sprays, all above a rosette border. Each fitted with a glass liner. Each stamped MARTINS TEHRAN underneath in separate punches.
