Description
Two glazed redware pitchers and a jug Pennsylvania and Virginia, 19th century The first pitcher slip-decorated with green, yellow and brown vertical stripes; the second pitcher with green and orange glaze; the jug with mottled green glaze.H(s): 10 1/2 in., 9 in., and 6 1/2 in. PROVENANCE: A Private Family Collection.
Condition
The largest with flakes and chips to mouth, flakes to glaze - especially to stripes, scuffs to belly; the second tallest-chips, flakes and roughness to rim, craquelure to body, some firing imperfections, glaze loss to mid section, wear to edges and back of handle; Jug-glaze loss to mouth and area around shoulders and handle. slight roughness to foot.
