1170-1180 AD. Cross-and-crosslets type, bust F. Obv: three quarter bust with ringlets at right and sceptre with +HENR[ ] RE legend. Rev: short cross and crosslets and +NIC[O]LE:ON:[ ] for the moneyer Nicole at an uncertain mint. S. 1342; N. 961. 1.26 grams. ("). Property of an Essex collector; found in Essex in the 1990s. North lists moneyers named NICOL at Gloucester (bust A) and Norwich (busts A-C); this coin seems clearly to give the moneyer name NICOLE but no moneyer is listed for this name in bust F. [No Reserve]
