Bronze figure of the Goddess Diana modelled by Pierre Le Faguays (1892-1962), circa early 20th century. Signed. H. (not including marble base) 22 inches
Lot Note: the artist has depicted Diana wearing a loosely draped tunic standing on one foot and holding her bow above her head. The model is pictured in H. Berman's "Bronzes, Sculptors, and Founders," p. 424.
Pierre Le Faguays was born in Nantes, France and was known for his elegant bronze figures of women.
Provenance: Property of a prominent private collector, Dallas, Texas
