"Road to Yesterday" by W. Nutting (US, 1861-1941) Sizable hand colored silver gelatin photograph signed by Nutting in the l.r. atop the photograph, with a poem incribed in the same manner and presumably also by the artist in the l.c. of the photograph. Sight: 18.75" H x 37.75" W, Frame: 25" H x 44" W.Wallace Nutting (November 17, 1861 – July 19, 1941) was a U.S. minister, photographer, artist, and antiquarian, who is most famous for his landscape photos of New England. He also was an accomplished author, lecturer, furniture maker, antiques expert and collector. His atmospheric photographs helped spur the Colonial Revival style.
