Description
A Dutch etched brass tobacco box, 18th century. Rectangular shaped box, the hinged lid depicts a soldier returning to his wife. A government building is depicted within the background. The figures are surrounded by etched writing in Dutch. The bottom of the box depicts the Leeuwarden Coat of Arms. The two long sides of the box have writing in Dutch, the two short sides depict urns filled with foliage. Measures 6-1/8" x 3.5" x 1-1/8" high.
