Description
Walking stick sword made by Hitachi no Kami Munenari in the year 1700 in Osaka Japan.
The sword has a Hitachi no Kami Munenari signature.
During the Meiji Restoration Reforms in the late 19th century,
the samurai class was abolished in favor of a western-style army.
Wearing a samurai sword or katana was prohibited.
Not all samurai accepted this just like that, they went to hide the sword in walking sticks,
which led to several armed uprisings against the new government.
The largest of these was the Satsuma uprising.
The sword is still razor sharp.
Length of the blade is 77.5 cm
Cutting part is 59.8 cm.
