Shin 15 Mai Kojo Saku
Musashi Taro Yasukuni is a very famous sword smith, Tsukue Ryunosuke whas the samurai who owned the sword.
The Mei is reading “Musashi Taro Yasukuni”.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 70.3 cm or 27.67 inches.
Sori : 2.6 cm or 1.02 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.13 cm or 0.83 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.21cm or 0.87 inches.
Kasane : 0.7 cm or 0.27 inches.
The weight of the sword 800 grams.
Era : Edo period Kyoho era 1500.
Shape : The blade is wide and thick with deep sori and long kissaki.
Jigane : Koitame hada well grained. It is a clear and beautiful jigane.
Hamon : Suguha from hamachi area, and then kogunome midare to kissaki.
It is like Hittsura. There are sunagashi and fine kinsuji in the blade.
Boshi is hakikake style.
Special feature: Yasukuni was a swordsmith descended from Shitahara school.
He moved to Edo and studied under the Oomura Kaboku.
He engrave on the nakago as Shin 15 mai Kojyo saku and well known as cut well sword.
While he studied at Oomura Kaboku, he says his name as Musashi Taro Yasukuni.
The reason why he became well known sword maker is that come from movies
the title is Daibosatsu Toge by the actor Chiezo Kataoka.
At that time Japanese swords were one of the top ranking Japanese men’s hobby.
In times past when entertainment was scarce, the movie was a place where men could have fun.
Musashi Taro Yasukuni is a sword smith, Tsukue Ryunosuke is a samurai use this sword has Mei Musashi Taro Yasukuni.
And he lived in Edo, and he studied under Omura Kaboku.
His blade cut well, and he was famous in Daibosatsu-touge.
The Uramei “Kin makoto 15 mai Koubuse” means swordsmith organization.
And his almost blades have same inscription of back side.

Saya :Dark brown Ishime-Ji Saya.
Tsuba : Mokko iron stub. There is a design of a spade.
Fuchigashira : shakudo with stone pattern. flowers looking like wisteria blossoms are engraved with gold color.
Saya: deep brown with a stone pattern.
Menuki : On the shakudo plate, a farmer is engraved with gold color.
It is very good.
From kyodai Originals: Musashi Tarou Yasukuni became popular because it appears in the famous novel, “Daibosatsu”.
This work is of very good quality.
