Description
A pair of Chiriqui/Diquis objects, Costa Rica, AD 1000 - 1550, Southern zone, the first is a ceramic polychrome tripod bowl with registers of Buenos Aires 'alligator-ware' design along top, Dia: 5 3/8 in (13.5 cm), the second is a jaguar/ocelot feline ocarina, with painted decoration in black slip. L: 5 1/4 in (13.3 cm). Both nice examples with light surface deposits. cf. Doris Stone, Pre-Columbian Man Finds Central America (Peabody Museum Press), p. 199.
