Description
An Egyptian bronze amulet of the god Min, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, who represented the masculine principle and was a god of fertility and the harvest. He is depicted standing on integral base, wearing a White Crown of Upper Egypt, where he originated, his right hand is raised and his left holds his erect phallus. His legs are bandaged in style of Osiris as they are both netherworld deities. H: 2 1/4 in (5.7 cm). Depictions of Min wearing White Crown are quite scarce. Ex Roman private collection acquired in London in 1994.
