A NAPOLEON III EGYPTIAN REVIVAL GILT BRASS AND COPPER MANTEL CLOCK, CIRCA 1870, the alternating brass and copper dual handled urn with relief bouquet swag, stands atop a tapered obelisk with old world Tuscan flora scrollwork in relief, centering a grotesque mask above dial fitted with black painted Roman numeral enameled porcelain shield form hour mark plaques, flanked by Neo-Grec stylized winged Athena term figures each crowned with war helmets and Germanic braids curled in buns, her ancient gaze mysterious above a pearl trimmed breastplate, she is upheld by feathery wings, scaly texture and swirling scrolls, on a stepped base with stylized blooming papyrus and anthemia relief raised on scrolled flaming hairy paw feet, verso the clockworks marked with pastille, "Vincenti & Cie., Medaille d'Argent, 1855," etched number 3837, the numbers 1583 and 9-6, and an encircled "A.C.," the clockwork window sash engraved with number 1583 and another encircled "A.C.," monogram, interior supports marked with a hand-inked number 1589, then a hammered 1584 and 1583, the front interior dial fitting hand-inked and repeating number 3837.
