AN EMPIRE STYLE GILT BRONZE MOUNTED MAHOGANY LYRE FORM OSCILLATING CLOCK, BY LE DOUX, PARIS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the lyre form body with scrolling tips mounted with gilt paterae bronzes flanking a lion mask mount suspending an oscillating clockwork pendulum, with circular white enamel dial enclosing black Roman chapters and Arabic five minute numerals centering a puce inscribed "Le Doux," above reticulated gilt hands over "A PARIS" and a single key escapement, trimmed in a ring of faux brilliants and reversing to the brass clockworks numbered "1 94," elevated on a flaring rectangular base and a conforming plinth with stylized leaf cast banding, raised on gilt bronze toupie feet. Condition
Good condition with normal surface buildup throughout, some expected small dings, light scratches, and a filled age crack on reverse.
