Description
A PAIR OF JAPANESE "DRAGON" BRONZE VASES, SIGNED, MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), each with a circular rim on a tapering long neck ending on a bulbous body and raised on a short stem flaring to a circular foot, one modeled with the engraved sides cast and applied in relief with a sinuous long-tailed roaring dragon clutching the flaming pearl amidst rolling waves, the other with the dragon's jaws clamped shut and wearing a fierce angry expression, each verso large impressed two-character mark. Height: 14" Diameter: 8"
Condition
Good condition with normal light scratches, marks, dings, oxidized areas, and expected surface buildup in crevices. Heavyweight and decent casting.
