Howard L. Hill (British, 1823-1888).
Nineteenth Century Harness Trotting Stallion Race Painting, signed by the British artist, H.L. Hill (lower right).
Framed oil on canvas.
Dimensions: framed: 33 1/2 in. x 41 1/2 in., canvas: 28 in. X 36 in.
Condition: overall good condition, great colors, old repairs noted, archival cardboard backing is secured with screws to the back of wood frame to protect canvas.
Provenance: private estate.
Howard Hill was a painter for CURRIER & IVES and according to Norman Rockwell (in his biography) Hill was evidently his maternal grandfather.
