Description
**First Time At Auction**
North America, Native American, Arizona, Mogollon Rim, Anasazi, ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. A hand-built black-on-white pottery bowl, the exterior walls presenting a decorative program comprised of repeating zigzag and triangular patterns, a black rim bar with diagonal rectangles with spotted interior borders, and a thin linear band separating the two sections. The jar itself is comprised of a rounded base, spherical body, a slight concave neck, and a flared rim; a two-pronged protrusion juts out from one area near the neck. The deep interior cavity would have been used to hold any number of different substances, whether dried or liquid, making this a simple yet overtly-utilitarian vessel! Size: 6.3" H (16 cm).
Provenance: private Ventura County, California, USA collection
All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.
