Scottish barrel-head mahogany tall case clock James Simpson, Glasgow, Scotland, mid-19th century The dial inscribed "James Simpson Glasgow".H: 77 1/2 in. W: 18 1/2 in. D: 8 3/4 in.PROVENANCE:The Collection of a Connecticut Gentleman.
Condition
includes two weights, a winding key, a case key, and a pendulum; overall in good condition, with some minor mildew spots to interior of case and to interior of glass door panel; the exterior of case possibly refinished, although mostly even throughout with some scuffing/spotting to base; front left facing foot with slight break; chipping to veneer along bottom front edge; age split to left side of base and a couple age splits to door and door surround; the pendulum disc presently with break where rod screws and detached; as with all mechanical objects, Freeman's does not guarantee mechanical functionality.
