Description

This cotton Pennsylvania Mennonite "Joseph's Coat" quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a diagonal piano key border and the initials "G.H." and date "1888" hand cross stitched in one corner.It measures a generous 82" X 86" and is in excellent condition, with subtle color in places (most visible on the binding edge) and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall.The quilting is superb, with chain link, cable, zigzag, Greek key, and straight line designs quilted throughout at 7-8 stitches to the inch.The back is a handsome early brown fabric, the hand stitched binding is green, and the batting is thin.
