Item/Description: Original art work by Edna (Hibel) Plotkin (1917 - 2015). Signed lower left: Hibel. Edna Hibel, was the first female artist to have an entire museum dedicated to her work in her lifetime. Her affinity towards Jewish subjects, particularly King David, lead her to create her most famous plate series. Out of the four images, King David by himself, has always been the most sought after. This is the original King David painting that was used to create the plate series. It is without a doubt, one of the most important works that she ever made. This is its first time being sold on the open market. A crown jewel for any Hibel collector. Lot also includes Hibel Studio Plate of the painting.
