Three pieces of studio jewelry by Bay Area artist John Lewis, the last image is of the pieces at a gallery opening. Welded steel, one piece is signed by the artist, largest piece is 4" x 1.5" in size. Bumper Art sculpture / Jewelry by Bay Area Artist / Industrial Design John Chase Lewis (1924-2013) received his B.A. in Fine Art at DePauw University in 1948 and his M.A. in sculpture at Ball State University in 1858.He had many solo and group shows in California and the East Coast as well as awards and commissions. He was a sculptor/ designer at G.M. Motors in the late 1950s Head of the sculpture Dept at Purdue and a lecturer at CCAC, all this is the short list.Lewis moved to Marin and became quite the Bohemian. This sculpture is created from old car bumpers, 36" x 20.5" x 8.5". Photocopies and some original paperwork will be given to the winning bidder.
