Description
Plateau or cornhusk bags were created by the Nez Perce, Umatilla, Walla Walla and Yakama tribes. They were woven in the round without seams, usually with a different design on each side. This outstanding example of textile art dates from Ca. 1900, it is a particularly large bag measuring 14” x 19.5”, very good condition with minor rim wear and it probably had a pair of leather handles at one time.
