BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Buenos aires in 1930, Strocen studied art at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes P. Pueyrredon of Buenos Aires and the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. In 1960 he was awarded the first grant given by the Fondo Nacional de las Artes of Argentina and moved to Paris,
sponsored by the French government. He also received grants from the Dutch Ministry of Arts and Sciences and the British Council. In 1978 he moved to Madrid. Strocen held over 75 international exhibits and received numerous awards. Praised by personalities as diverse as the Spanish poet Jose Hierro, the
Mexican painter Rufino Tamayo and the Argentine critic Manuel Mujica Lainez, the work of this painter, sculptor, printmaker, and designer forms part of the permanent collections of major museums in Europe and the United Stated, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
