Description
A Pair of Tall Chinese Song Dynasty Qingbai Porcelain Dragon Vases. A true pair, complete with original covers. Each decorated with moulded and applied turtles, dogs and cockerels, also two dragons, male and female, facing each other under a sun. Below the animals are rows of twelve immortals. Also decorated with incised spirals and “piecrust” bands. Each vase topped with a conical cover on which sits a crane, symbols of longevity. Coated in a finely-crackled pale green qingbai glaze. Heights 62cm (24.25 inches) & 58.5cm (23 inches). Late Song Dynasty (AD 960 – 1279).
