5th-3rd century BC. A bronze finger ring with lentoid bezel, intaglio profile image of a faun (Pan?) playing a syrinx of two pipes. 6.66 grams, 21.59mm overall, 17.13mm internal diameter (approximate size British I, USA 4 1/4, Europe 7.44, Japan 7) (3/4"). Property of a South London collector; previously acquired on the European art market 1970-1980.
