Fiske Boyd "Washingtonville" Woodcut 1928,[Mat Size 14 H X 19 W inches], (Print Size 12.5 H X 16 W inches), [Mat opening 9.25 H X 12.75 W inches], Artist Fiske Boyd (1895-1974), primarily known as a block printer (woodcuts) and paintings. Boyd studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and at the Art Students' League in New York, as a student of Kenneth Hayes Miller. Boyd was a member of the Woodstock artists' colony and executed mural commissions during the 1930s. Boyd prints and paintings are held by numerous institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Smithsonian, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Philadelphia Art Museum.
