Description
A huge Jalisco ceramic figure of a woman, West Mexico, c. 100 BC - AD 250, with lovely glossy surface and a lively expression. She is depicted standing wearing a close fitting dress, with her breasts visible beneath and her hands on the sides of her belly. She wears a wrapped headdress with earrings and a necklace. H: 24 ¾ in (70.6 cm). Mottled mineral deposits and an attractive example! Ex Petersen family collection, Los Angeles; Ex DeRoche Gallery, San Francisco.
